Leroy Gomez is American, a native of Cape Cod, Massachusettes. USA. At the age of 14 he formed his own band then he joined the group Tavares and with them he toured all over the USA, Canada and Europe. Leroy fell in love with Europe and stayed in Paris, where he quickly became one of the top session saxophone players and vocalists and worked with many great artists.
He played saxophone on Elton John’s famous album "Yellow Brick Road".
His first success was the single Here we go around, which was an instant hit in France and then all over the world, following on with world wide success Don’t let me be misunderstood. Before Saturday Night Fever (The Bee Gees) and Thriller (Michael Jackson), Leroy Gomez broke the world record for album sales with 15 million LP's sold within a few months. To this day, 25 million LP's sold, not counting the singles and cassettes. Don’t let me be misunderstood was number 1 Disco hit in the world with 48 gold albums and 42 platinum, followed by House of the rising sun and Gloria. Both songs also became gold status! Twice elected best live show in Europe by the "Federation of the European Press" and awarded the "Mask of Success". Winner of 6 awards "Bill Board USA". First foreign artist to be presented with the "Gondola d’ Oro" of the Venice Music Festival, Leroy Gomez is also a song writer and composer.
